“Biblioteket Skaber: Det kan fixes! FixHub Festival i Tingbjerg”, held from May 11-13, 2016 was a fantastic three-day festival at Tingbjerg’s Bibliotek, full of exciting fixing, repairing and making activities.
From wool filling to learning how to connect electrical wires, inventing new pockets, stripping plastic from empty bottles, debating on the future of libraries, fixing clothes, repairing bikes, “Fixperts” codesigning with local “Fixpartners”, fixing porcelains with new kintsugi techniques, a lottery sponsored by local partners, a materials library, accessible books on making, 3D printers and finishing off with a music concert and beer tasting..! Tingbjerg dwellers, students from KADK and a local and wider network of partners and participants engaged their skills and energy to transform Tingbjerg and the local Bibliotek into a place for making things together, meeting neighbors and new people and discussing common issues.
